67. Primetime Emmy Awards: «Game of Thrones» ist Favorit

24 Mal wurde die Fantasy-Serie «Game of Thrones» von HBO für einen Emmy vorgeschlagen. «American Horror Story» folgt mit 19 Erwähnungen, «House of Cards» und andere Streaming-Produktionen schlagen sich gut.

Die Fantasy-Serie «Game of Thrones» erreichte beim Pay-TV-Sender HBO nicht nur hervorragende Einschaltquoten im linearen und zeitversetzten Fernsehen, die neuen Episoden kamen auch bei den Mitgliedern der Fernsehakademie hervorragend an. Die fünfte Staffel von «Game of Thrones» wurde insgesamt 24 Mal für den bedeutendsten Fernsehpreis Amerikas nominiert, womit die Autoren David Benioff und D. B. Weiss mit ihrer Arbeit sehr zufrieden sein können. Zuletzt beschwerten sich die Fans, dass sich die Qualität der neuen Runde nicht an den vorherigen Staffeln orientiere.

19 Nominierungen heimste die Miniserie «American Horror Story» ein, die "Freak Show" war sehr beliebt. Die Geschichten aus einer Stadt im US-Bundesstaat in den 50er Jahren waren für Chefautor und Produzent Ryan Murphy ein voller Erfolg. Ebenfalls stark besetzt waren die HBO-Projekte «Olive Kitteridge» und «Bessie», Ersteres wurde bereits bei Sky Deutschland ausgestrahlt.

Die Streaming-Anbieter Amazon und Netflix erreichen mit ihren Serien immer mehr Nominierungen. In diesem Jahr wurden unter anderem «Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt», «Bloodline» und «House of Cards» von Seiten Netflix vorgeschlagen. Bei Amazon wurden «Transparent» und «Bosch» für mehrere Preise in Erwägung gezogen. Die Kabelsender schlagen sich in diesen Jahr weiterhin gut, «Better Call Saul» und weitere Projekte wie «Mad Men» schlagen sich ordentlich. Aus dem Network-Fernsehen hebt sich nur «American Crime», «The Big Bang Theory» und «Modern Family» vom übrigen Fiction-Bereich ab.
